In June of 2024, I wore my my Reel Quest Films hat for three days in New Hampshire and Maine forests for Be Zero Carbon. I accompanied their staff for three days as they visited forestry sites across New England. I worked with them in the Bartlett Experimental Forest in New Hampshire’s White Mountains and in the Dartmouth College Second Grant on the NH/ME border north of Errol, NH. My task was to create photo and video assets that could be used by BeZero’s in-house media team to help tell their story.

Trading carbon credits is one tool being used as an attempt to reduce carbon emissions in the fight against climate change. In a carbon market, a carbon emitter can offset their emissions by buying carbon “credits” from on organization that is sequestering carbon, usually through sustainable forest management. Be Zero is a carbon ratings agency, based in the UK, which rates carbon projects – determining the probability a specific carbon project will meet its goal using a host of tools. You can learn more about their approach on their website here: https://bezerocarbon.com/ratings/approach, and you can see a pair of videos from the shoot on the Reel Quest Films website here: https://reelquestfilms.com/2025/04/20/be-zero-carbon-photo-and-video-shoot/.
Here are some more photos from the shoot:

Cheers!
