In September 2024, the Northeast Wilderness Trust hired my film company, Reel Quest Films, to create photos and videos of a new 78,000 acre conservation project in far northwestern Maine. My Reel Quest partner, Ryan Smith, and I spent three days exploring this beautiful and wild part of Maine that has stellar opportunities for fishing and paddling (and snowmobiling in winter.)

The effort to conserve this property is led by a coalition of non-profits: Northeast Wilderness Trust, Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust, Forest Society of Maine, and the Nature Conservancy. The resulting conserved lands will be a combination of working forest and wilderness preserve (around 11000 acres) with recreational access retained for the entire property. More details about the effort, which needs to raise $62 million in 2025, can be found here: https://magalloway.org/. The video we produced can be seen on the Reel Quest website.
On these types of jobs Ryan and I both shoot videos and stills, though I tend to focus on stills while Ryan spends more time on the video portion. This system works well for providing our clients a good mix of content. Here are some more photos:

Let me know how you like the photos.
Cheers!
