I recently completed work on a short video for Harvard Forest and the Highstead Foundation, announcing the release of their new report, “Wildlands and Woodlands, Farmlands and Communities.” The report makes the case for protecting 70% of New England as forest and 7% as farmland by the year 2060. It envisions a New England of sustainable cities and vibrant small towns, interspersed with productive farms, working forests, and ecologically diverse wildlands.
